This one of a kind original antique map of Central Germany comes from Malte Brun's Atlas de la Geographie Universelle. Published by Garnier Freres at 6 Rue Des Saints-Peres in Paris circa 1850. This rare map of Central Germany has a blank verso or back side, was printed on sturdy paper with vivid hand coloring. This old map of Central Germany is truly a fine piece of history from the mid 1800's. This historic map of Central Germany would make a fine addition to any collection, Central Germany wall decor or gift. The total paper size for this map is approximately 14" x 11". Victor Adolphe Malte-Brun (25 November 1816 13 July 1889) was a French geographer and cartographer. He was born in Paris, France, the son of Conrad Malte-Brun, another geographer, of Danish origin, and founder of the Societe de Geographie. After having been professor of history in several colleges, he devoted himself especially to geographical studies. In 1851, Victor Adolphe Malte-Brun became a member of the Societe de Geographie, and quickly rose to be its secretary-general. He was also principal editor of the Nouvelles Annales des Voyage. He died in Marcoussis in the Essonne department and is buried in the Cimetiere du Montparnasse in Paris.
